You might be able to notice on some pictures that we carry a hard dinghy on the coachroof under the boom. Our dinghy is 8′ long and there’s not enough space with the windshield. So that was the primary reason. The second reason is that here in the hot climate you get a nice breeze in the cockpit, which the windshield would obstruct. Also the rim of the windshield is made from aluminum and it’s fastened with SS rivets and there were also SS snaps for the dodger, so there was a lots of corrosion. Recently we’ve seen another Monsun with exactly the same problem. Originally we thought we will rebuild the windshield, but then we really didn’t want to carry the dinghy on the foredeck…
